The origin and development of Rome Law deals with the development and evolution of Rome Law, which is newly-added content of New Senior Secondary Curriculum.The paper is involved in a large number of legal terms, which are far away from students’ daily life. To a history teacher, it’s a big challenge to illustrate profound law knowledge and its complicated evolution progress in a brief way. In addition, it’s rather difficult to resolve abundant teaching materials in a such limited classroom teaching period.Therefore, the author is devoted to the teaching of this topic. It is aimed to make some contributions to senior-high history teaching. Firstly, the author talks about some teaching difficulties. The difficulties are as follows: how to know about the content system of Rome Law; how to have a good understanding of class essence of Rome Law; how to find appropriate teaching approaches. Secondly, the paper analyzes the causes of teaching difficulties: teaching material itself, the sudents and the teacher. Finally, the author finds some appropriate teaching strategies based on her own teaching experience as well as her fellow teachers’. The teaching strategies lie in the following three aspects: learn the evolution progress of Rome Law by knowing its historical background; understand the content of Rome Law through some vivid specific examples; grasp the characteristics of Rome Law by combining profound law knowledge with students’ daily life.
