In recent years, the tourism industry of our minority region hasdeveloped very fast, and become the new economic growth points, even thedominant industry of these regions. So the development of minority tourismindustry puts forward a higher request to educate the local tourism talents.Inner Mongolia autonomous region has his characteristic and uniquetourism resources. Inner Mongolia autonomous region has a vast territory.There three types of landscapes: forest, grassland, and desert which are thebasic types of Inner Mongolia natural tourism resources. Other tourismresources also rely on these three types. They are the combination of otherseveral of tourism resources. Inner Mongolia autonomous region has a longhistory of grassland culture, because Huns, Xianbei, Khitans have lived on thegrassland. Now the Mongolian is the main residents. The unique dress,celebrity, religious beliefs and folklore are the important minority culturalresources.If the minority tourism industry wants to have sustainable development,the region has to solve the confliction between the talent and requests ofindustry. The demand of talent is greater than the supply. Nearly everycollege doesn’t educate talent according to the requirements of industry. Thegraduated students just know little management knowledge so that theycannot do the management job. Besides, most of the talents distributethroughout the main city, such as Hohhot, Baotou. Some remote regions don’thave enough talents to face the tourism high season.Ministry of Education has revised the undergraduate major catalogue in2012. The tourism management has become the first level subject. So eachcollege of Inner Mongolia has a good opportunity to do the specialtyconstruction. First, the college should change the idea of education to educatethe talent following the industry; second, the college should clear the positionof the subject in order to set major flexibly; the college should attract more teachers who experienced in teaching tourism courses; third, the classesarchitecture should be improved, which the minority features and industryrequirement are outstanding; forth, the college should cooperate withcompany in order to get more practice opportunities; fifth, educating minoritycultural inherit people is a good way to get more local talents. Inner Mongoliacolleges not only improve the mode of education, but also stand on local areaand present the local features to achieving the goal of sustainabledevelopment.
