As the first of all things for revitalization and development of a nation,education is bound up with national qualities and the future of country. As animportant part of national education, social education plays a crucial role inextending learning opportunities and improving citizen qualities. However,the situation of current social education is worrying: theories of socialeducation don’t get good development and are used in wrong ways, besidesits important place and value are often neglected. So based on realities ofsocial education, the article analyzed many questions of current socialeducation and discussed strategies.The article includes four parts:Part one includes two aspects: one is defining of society education, theother is to state the research significance. The article believe social educationis a deliberately implementing and independent education activity; it is a kindof lifelong education whose purpose is to improve national qualities; itconcludes all educations except for the institutionalized education andemphasizes all educational functions of the whole society; it is the continueand supplement of family education and social education, which constituteseducation with education and social education.Part two, the article summarizes and analyzes current problems of socialeducation in China which involve outmoded notions narrow channels andone-sided content. First of all, as the flag of education, concepts decidedevelopment trend of society education.Despising lifelong education andemphasizing elite education are included in current social education conceptproblems. Then, channel problems limit the scope of the implementation ofsocial education. Disordered book markets the entertainment of mass mediathe lack of public education facilities and enrich community educationresources are main problems. At last, the content problems limit the comprehensiveness of human quality. Main problems include the supreme ofknowledge education and indifference of ethics education.Part three, the part of strategies, the article puts forward strategies aboutguaranteeing effective implementation of social education, which involveupdating society education、widening social education channels and enrichingsocial education. The author believes that updating social education should setup the thought which combines school education family education lifelongeducation national education and social education; it is necessary forwidening social education channels to build healthy book markets publicopinion and media complete public education facilities and enrich communityeducation resources; To make the content of social education meet the need ofimproving national qualities, we should popularize scientific knowledge todevelop people’s wisdom, spread moral norms to promote mores, enhancefitness consciousness to strengthen physique, carry forward traditional cultureto folk and infiltrate patriotism to support the people.Part four, the author reviewed and concluded the article, and statedresearch limitations.The ultimate pursuit of education is to seek happiness andself-perfection.The article reaffirmed the importance of education as social education isable to bear the weight of such history missions and cultivate people who hashigh quality personalities and bring education new hope.
