With the development of quality education, mathematics literacy has become a hot topic in the field of mathematics education. To cultivate and improve students' mathematics literacy is an important target of current mathematics education in our country. As a literacy assessment project with great influence at present,PISA's study goal, concept of evaluation and policy guidance have attracted the attentions of education researchers at home and abroad since its implementation from 2000.In the process of PISA2012 implementation, the mathematical literacy and math anxiety of the students who took part in this project were investigated, and the survey result of relations between mathematical literacy and math anxiety of those students is worth deep thinking. There are lots of researches on math anxiety in recent years, but mainly focusing on the influences of scores affected by math anxiety, the relationship between math anxiety and self-efficacy,the influencing mechanism of math anxiety caused by various mathematical tasks, investigation and countermeasures of math anxiety, etc.Existing research findings regarding the relationships between mathematical literacy and math anxiety are very few.In order to understand the level of both mathematical literacy and math anxiety, and the relationship between them, first of all, this article summarizes and analyzes the relevant researches, and then systematically expounds the connotation of mathematical literacy, the evaluation framework and methods of mathematical literacy, and the connotation and measurement of math anxiety of relative researches in PISA.Then, the Mathematics Anxiety Scale is established according to the purpose of the study and the Mathematical Literacy Test is compiled on the basis of PISA,and some freshmen in three senior high schools of Yantai are selected as the object of research, then the data are collected using the compiled questionnaires. Finally the results of the data analysis with the help of SPSS19.0 are analyzed and discussed.Following main conclusions can be drawn from this research: In Yantai city, the math anxiety of senior grade one students is ubiquitous, and the girls' math anxiety level is significantly higher than the boys';the math anxiety level of the students from Yantai Second Middle School is significantly lower than those students from Yantai Third Middle School and Yantai Fourth Middle School, and the students from Yantai Fourth Middle School have thehighest level of math anxiety. The boys' mathematical literacy level is higher than girls',but the difference is not significant;the students' levels of mathematical literacy among the three schools, between any two of which, are significantly different.According to the level of the mathematical literacy and the math anxiety, the three schools can be divided relatively into four types: Yantai Second Middle School is in low anxiety and high literacy area, group 1 of Yantai Third Middle School and group1,2 and 4 of Yantai Fourth Middle School are in high anxiety and low literacy area, group 4 of Yantai Third Middle School is in high anxiety and high literacy area,group2 and 3 of Yantai Third Middle School and group 3 of Yantai Fourth Middle School are in low anxiety and low literacy area.Math anxiety has significant effects on mathematical literacy, and math anxiety and mathematical literacy are in notably negative correlation.Comparing with the average level of mathematical literacy of the countries or regions which participated in PISA test, and comparing and analyzing the students in the three senior high schools, this thesis puts forward some specific teaching suggestions, expecting to provide certain references for the mathematical education of high school.
