Writing teaching is always an important part of Chinese teaching. The New Standards of Chinese Course in Primary Schools pointed out that Chinese is a subject developed by humanities and instrument; writing skills is a kind of judgment of Chinese comprehensive abilities. With the rising of the status of compositions, Chinese writing in primary schools is more and more concerned by the parents.As the educational reform started, The reform of writing teaching has achieved a lot, however, there’s still problems. One of the facts is that big amount of the students makes the small-class teaching impossible in a large region. The hard work leads to little lessons for writing. The students in high grades suffers a lot from entering into a good middle school, they must pay attention to other subjects.Students are not very interested in writing, meanwhile, the lack of systematic writing strategies. Practically, teachers teach in a traditional way, which is bad for stimulate the enthusiasm for writing. Kinds of subjective and objective facts cause some certain difficulties, which the educators have to solve.The paper set the high-grade students of Changchun Luyuan Primary School as an example to analyze the current levels of their writing abilities. To look into the problems more completely, the paper finds out the shortages of the writing situation through questionnaire method, interview method and so on based on the teachers’teaching and the studengts’writing situaton. it’s shown that the students in that period have a negtive attitude towards writing, they don’t understand what writing really means and don’t relate reading to writing. The writing class is not so relaxing that many students don’t take part in it and the teaching resources aren’t used completely, as a result, the efficiency is not high. Then, the limitation of assignments and literary forms has restricted the development of the students and restrained their imagination. At the same time, the students in the high grades of Luyuan Primary School didn’t play the leading role in the feedback of compositions, which the teachers and students should co-work to improve it.To solve the problems above, the author wants to make some suggestions to improve the writing situation of students in the high grades of Changchun Luyuan Primary School. Firstly, the students should treat writing classes positively, they should understand the nature of writing and combine reading with writing, in order that they can prepare well for writing. Next, the teachers should improve the atmosphere of the classes and use the teaching equipments completely to attract the students. Then, set the students free so that they won’t be restrained by the assignment and literary forms. Finally, make a more reasonable plan to develop the students’writing skills in modifying the compositions. The suggestions have meaning to develop the writing components of students in high grades of Luyuan Primary School.
