Since he began to get involved in the educational reform of middle-school Chinese, QianLiqun has delivered many comments on Chinese education in middle school and has arouseda strong response in Chinese education. To study his education views on middle-schoolChinese deeply is of great theoretical significance and realistic guiding meanings onimproving the current situation of Chinese education and on driving the continuous and sounddevelopment of educational reform of middle-school Chinese. The paper is mainly dividedinto three parts. Part I: concise introduction to the generation of Qian Liqun’s education viewson middle-school Chinese from personal practice, historical inheritance and realisticrethinking. Part II:“To build a man by passing human civilization” is the content of QianLiqun’s education views on middle-school Chinese. Chinese education in middle school shalltake “passing human civilization” as the core of its education and realize its educational targetof “build a man” through “passing human civilization”. This part intends to interpret thecontent of his education views on middle-school Chinese from two aspects, i.e.“to build aman” and “passing human civilization” and explains their relationship. Part III: Qian Liqunadvocates “self-studying free reading and writing”. His views on reading are further dividedinto three aspects, i.e.“classics reading”,“perceptual reading” and “creative reading”. Inrespect of views on writing, he successively makes a further analysis at three levels, that is,“to tell the truth and your own words”,“dialogue and communication” and “discovery anddevelopment”. Whether for views on reading or views on writing, the idea of “to build a manby passing human civilization” is the soul therein all the time.
