This thesis is a kind of investigative research. Using the researching methods of combingquantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, by means of questionnaire, experiments,investigation and data analysis of performance, this thesis investigates the learning interest,learning motivation and attribution of high school fine arts students. It aims at exploring theeffective ways of arousing English learning motivation of fine arts students in high school.The goal of improving their English level is to be achieved by enhancing the English learningmotivation of students.As a special group, most of high school fine arts students are not good at English, andthey always produce a kind of weariness in learning English. The fundamental reason is thatmany students lack English learning motivation severely. Consequently, to stimulate andmaintain students’ English learning motivation is a key point in English teaching. The mainresearch problems of this paper can be included as follows:(1)How are fine arts students motivated to learn English in high school?(2)Are there any gender differences in English learning motivation of fine arts studentsin high school?(3)What can be done to improve English learning motivation of high school fine artsstudents?In this paper, factor analysis method is adopted to analyze the English learningmotivation of high school fine arts students in three high schools in Daqing city, and studentsof different genders are tested with sample T method, and it is concluded that there are nosignificant differences in their English learning motivations. In addition, based on the relatedtheories of education psychology, through English learning motivation questionnaire and theinterview aiming fine arts students in three high schools in Daqing city, using the SPSS17.0analysis system software to make factor analysis with the raw data, we conclude that the mainmotivation of high school fine arts students in learning English are reflected on six aspects.They are: the personal development, the future employment, interest, improving theirperformance, learning situation, participation and communication and so on. And then,combining with the English teaching experience for so many years, aiming at the students’current English learning situation, effective approaches of how to inspire students’ Englishlearning motivation is discussed. Meanwhile, this paper also offers some suggestions tostudents’ English learning motivation..
