At present a series of elementary education reform is underway and the reform ofcompulsory education is much accounted of."Based on history, we can see advantages anddisadvantages". If we study the modern compulsory education, we can get a lot ofenlightenment which can be used in the contemporary elementary education reform. In thedevelopment of modern compulsory education, the south of Jiangsu was always at the leadinglevel, which is remarkable. However, the rapid development of the modern compulsoryeducation in the south of Jiangsu had a lot to do with the forces of private education. whicheffects did the family of the south of Jiangsu on the modern compulsory education, as animportant force in private education. If we can research the modern compulsory education inthe south of Jiangsu from the perspective of the family education, maybe we can get morenew discoveries.Just as based on the above consider, the paper takes “the research of the moderncompulsory education in the south of Jiangsu from the perspective of the family education” assubject; takes the facts of the family of the south of Jiangsu building schools as object toexplore the family elements of modern compulsory education in the south of Jiangsu andanalyze the effect of modern compulsory education which the family of the south of Jiangsutakes on in the background of the modern education. At last the paper sums up the experienceof the modern compulsory education in the south of Jiangsu in order to get someenlightenment for the compulsory educationThis paper is divided into five chapters and epilogue. Chapter one introductory partintroduces the research background and review of the subject, research design and innovation.Chapter two discourses the historical background of the modern compulsory education in thesouth of Jiangsu, analyzes the relationships between the modern compulsory education andthe family of the south of Jiangsu in different time and explore the family elements of moderncompulsory education in the south of Jiangsu. Chapter three and Chapter four analyze theeffect which the family elements on the education purpose, the education resources, theeducation objects, the education forms, education content, education methods, educationevaluation of the modern compulsory education in the south of Jiangsu. Chapter five is thehistorical position of the family elements of the south of Jiangsu in the progress of moderncompulsory education and realistic enlightenment. The final epilogue summarizes the mainconclusions and achievements of the paper and reflect on its inadequacies.Through the analysis, I got the following conclusions: Firstly, the Family elements of thefamily in the south of Jiangsu such as educational concept and so on affects the aims, types,content, teaching methods of the compulsory education profoundly, and make the types of education more diverse, the aims of education pay more attention to cultivate the talentavailable. Secondly, the Family elements such as the financial resources, the humanresources make the beginning of the compulsory education of the south of Jiangsu earlier, thescope of education broader, the level of development of the compulsory higher than any otherdistrict. Thirdly, China’s elementary education reform also should fully consider theconditions and characteristics of regional development. Maybe the districts with thecorresponding economic, cultural and social development level of regional can be allowed toextension of the period of compulsory education.
