Against this backdrop that modern China is in an era of social transformation, the education of modern China also demonstrates the change characteristic of the times. It can be said that the development track of education in modern China shows a historical process of being from tradition to modern, from closure to opening up. Family education has also achieved the transformation from traditional period to modern period. Family aesthetic education in modern times, as an important component of modern family education, is seldom studied for a long time. This paper selects the modern family aesthetic education as the research object, since family aesthetic education also presents a new look and new system during this period under the mutual blend of Chinese and Western culture as well as the collision between new and old culture. This research intends to explore the modern family aesthetic education. This paper hopes to provide effective historical experience and reference for the effective development of modern and contemporary family aesthetic education in China on the basis of arrangement of family aesthetic education in the historical period.The author collects relevant information in library and archives, genealogies, ancient books, as well as biographies and combines existing research results as well as the characteristics and background of modern social change and educational reform to make case studies of family aesthetic education in modern times, based on the historical investigation of traditional family aesthetic education in ancient times. Through case analysis, this paper summarizes the content, methods, characteristics and objectives of family aesthetic education in this period. Moreover, this paper expounds the transformation of family aesthetic education,dialectically reveals the values and limitations of family aesthetic education in modern times.That is how to explore contemporary enlightenment of the development of family aesthetic education.This paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is the introduction which mainly introduces the research reasons, research summary, research significance and research design about family aesthetic education and modern aesthetic education. Chapter Two summarizes the development stages of modern family aesthetic education. In this chapter, the historical source of family(clan) aesthetic education in China and the historical conditions and social background of the transformation of family aesthetic education in modern times are investigated. This chapter focuses on concept, content, method, characteristic, and target of modern family aesthetic education to analyze the stages of transformation of family aesthetic education in modern times. Chapter Three attaches great importance to the investigations of objectives, main contents, educational methods and characteristics of family aesthetic education in modern times. Chapter Four makes case studies of family aesthetic education examples of Zeng Guofan, Liang Qichao, and Feng Zikai. Chapter Five makes classification and positioning analyses of family aesthetic education cases of Zeng Guofan, Liang Qichao,Feng Zikai through the analyses of the above four chapters. This chapter summarizes the historical values and some inspirations of the change and renewal.
