The concept of function is an important foundation in modern mathematics, which hasbeen widely used in modern mathematics and science and technology. In the300-yeardevelopment of the concept of function, many mathematicians have implanted new ideas intothis concept from the perspective of geometry, algebra, correspondence, and the set. Theforming of the concept of function marks a turning point of mathematical ways ofthinking.Matics, which then promote the development of the whole mathematics. But it isprecisely because of the abstraction and the hierarchy of the concept of function, studentsare not able to employ the set or the correspondence to explain the functional relations,lacking the ability to analyze and solve problems with the function of thought.Studyon the development and comparison of the view of function. The thesis aims to make someexplorations in the teaching of the concept of function. In the secondary school, Theimportance of function is with no doubt. It has become the bond of high school mathematics.On the basis of the importance and complexity of function, this paper first makes a relatedinvestigation on the origin and the evolution of function, and then makes an exhaustiveresearch on the developmental process of function, as well as the application of function inteaching methodology. We can reasonably draw a conclusion that the function is difficult forstudents to understand. The dissertation makes an analysis of the idea for function teaching byshowing us several samples of class.
