Research methods used in this paper involve literature study, comparative method,statistics and macro-microscopic analysis, questionnaire survey. The ideas of the researchmainly regard the material structure as the starting point and new curriculum standard asthe basis, respectively by macro analysis of the structure of Geography Compulsorytextbook Ⅱof People’s Education Press and Hunan Education Press versions, And thenfurther laterally by the microscopic comparison including the comparison of thechapter-level structure、section-level structure、column structure of the material structureof two different versions, Identify the structural differences between them and theirrespective strengths and weaknesses,at last take Geography Compulsory Textbook ⅡofPeople’s Education Press as an example, explore strategies for textbook structuraloptimization. Finally draw the following conclusions:1. Both two versions have been compiled based on New Curriculum Standard, buteach has their own framework characteristics.Under the guidance of New Curriculum Standard, the whole book is divided into sixchapters, the number and names of the chapters have made the appropriate adjustments,Hunan Education version compiles basically in accordance with New Curriculum Standard,the number and names of the chapters form correspondence relationships with NewCurriculum Standard.2. There are some differences existed in the handling of content structure between thetwo versions.The main content of Geography Compulsory textbookⅡ is human geography andman-land relationship,People’s Education Press version making the “production” into“agriculture and industry” two chapters,Then the “Transportation” corresponding to “localcontact”, but Hunan Education Press version putting "agriculture, industry, transportation"all owned by the “regional industrial activity” chapter. In the final chapter, People’sEducation Press and Hunan People’s Education Press versions individually designman-land relationship with a chapter, but Hunan Education Press version has given moreattention to “environmental issues”, and the “environment” word directly joined the title ofthe first chapter and the second chapter. It illustrates that People’s Education Press versiongives more prominence to the way of Geography thinking and for the concept of studentlife, Hunan Education Press version more emphasis on students’ cognitive law and prominent characteristics of the times.3. Both versions are not the same in the focus of the section-level columns.Activities of the People’s Education Press version account for the highest proportionof the section columns,The second is the case study. The section-level columns of HunanEducation Press is mainly the Read column, the second is the active part.
