Abstract:"Discover/explore" is the action verbs in terms of behavioral learning level, including design, combing, collation, analysis, discovery, communication, research, discover, inquiry, explore, solve, seek, etc, which belong to the "Process and Methods" target areas of the "Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards (experiment)".These action verbs to form a set of behaviors, which students must be acquired in high school mathematics class. To achieve High School Mathematics Teaching Objectives, and to improve students’"discover/explore" ability, via teaching, we have to create appropriate teaching situation, develop students’"discover/explore" consciousness; organize appropriate teaching activities, activate students’"discover/explore" behavior.Based on the significance of each action verbs, fully activate the students "discover/explore" behavior which can help students achieve the learning objectives, enhance other curriculum learning, and lay a foundation for after-high school’s learning. Further studies showed that "Discover/explore" action verbs throughout the three-dimensional target and also throughout all aspects of classroom teaching. However, in practical mathematics teaching, whether when the class is introduced, or to explain the textbook to students, or the consolidation exercise, or the summary class, students partially lack the "discover/explore" behavior. This is related to the teacher’s behaviour which not gives students the opportunity to practice each individual act or intentionally trained the students on each exercise. To solve this problem, the teacher must focus on the three-dimensional target, in the above four aspects of mathematics teaching, taking appropriate and targeted measures to design the class and to stimulate the lack of students’"discover/explore" behavior, at the same time, the rest can exert to its full extend. Thus, maximizing the training and exercise of students’"discover/explore" behaviour and achieving the goal of mathematics teaching.
