Study On Safety Education For College Students At The Current Stage

With the rapid development of economy in our society, higher education has moved into the stage of great reform and fast improvement which has been producing good results. Due to the development of the social environment and the improvement of tertiary education, there has been a closer communication between universities(colleges) and the society. Based on this background, both families and college students have undergone a great change. Factors that affect the security and stability in universities(colleges) have become more and more complex, so new problems appear unremittingly.The analyses of the current safety education for college students made by the investigation from5colleges and universities in Shanxi Province, including the questionnaires for the students, are presented in this paper. Based on the results of the survey, the countermeasures and suggestions are proposed in order to solve the problems. This paper is divided into three parts:In the first part, the concept and content of safety education for college students are discussed. The meanings are explained in two aspects:first, safety education for college students is an important measure to promote the higher education and the all-round development of students; second, the safety education for college students is to maintain social stability and reduce the campus crime; third, growth is beneficial to the success of college students.In the second part, the present situation of university students’safety education, such as the achievements and problems, is described. The main problems consist of incomplete higher education system, partial safety education content, single method of safety education and lack of awareness etc. According to the existing problems result from society, school, family and students themselves, analysis is done to clarify the causes of these problems.In the third part, strategies of improvement are put forward. They are mainly about strengthening the social control, improving the safety education and management, paying more attention on the family education and solidifying college students’ own safety awareness.
