Teaching method is an important reflection of a class of teaching, is an important part of physical education teaching activities, is also an important topic in the theory of contemporary sports teaching. The conventional method of sports teaching is teacher centered, no outstanding students’ subject status, martial arts teaching in conventional, lack of active learning atmosphere, teachers just to complete the outline teaching task and teaching, neglecting the teaching effect and the students’ interest in learning, ignore the enthusiasm of students learning the essence of the connotation, ignoring the real intrinsic value and Wushu martial arts learning, which leads to many of the students like to learn martial arts and didn’t like martial arts course is not good, the martial arts learning, this paper applied the teaching small groups to the public elective course of martial arts teaching, to improve the martial arts class students learning effect and quality of Wushu teaching, so as to provide reference basis for deepening the reform of teaching martial arts class.This paper attempts to based on domestic and foreign studies on the theory and practice of teaching methods of small groups, further integration of Wushu teaching technical difficulties, complex motion requirements higher, students is difficult, and now the number of classes, teach students in accordance with their aptitude, inconvenient implementation characteristics, by the research methods of literature, questionnaire survey method, teaching the experimental method, mathematical statistics method, the method of teaching small groups in Taiyuan University of Technology public elective course of martial arts teaching as the research object, Taiyuan University Students of grade2012in a public elective course of martial arts as the experimental object, in-depth analysis of the necessity and feasibility of public elective course of martial arts teaching in the application of teaching method in small groups, based on Experimental Research on this, through experimental research to evaluation and analysis analysis of small group teaching method in many of the effects of public Wushu elective course teaching to students in Wushu learning achievement, learning interest, group cohesion, the ability of social adaptation and effect of public elective course of Wushu teaching and so on, the main method is to use the standard scale and questionnaire survey to The data, and then through the experimental research and the measured data were analyzed and the data processing analysis.The experimental results show that, is a feasible necessary method of teaching small groups applied to the university public elective course of martial arts, it can not only make up for the shortage of traditional martial arts teaching, but also can effectively increase the martial arts of Wushu teaching and students’ learning efficiency, cultivate students’ comprehensive ability group cohesion and the ability to adapt to society. Through the teaching experiment, the research draws the following conclusions:in Wushu teaching method in college public body, small groups, to improve interpersonal communication interpersonal relationship to improve student, promote physical and mental health of students, enhance student interest in learning and students’ subject status, so as to improve the students’ ability of social adaptation. And by using the method of teaching small groups in the public elective course of martial arts teaching can maximally improve students’ Wushu technical skill level, the student Wushu technique tends to be more precise, it is helpful for the students to master the skills of Wushu actions, which are neglected for prevention of Wushu movement, forgotten route and direction, promote students between each group team cooperation consciousness, active classroom atmosphere, enhance the teaching of Wushu interest, improve students ’autonomous learning ability and innovation ability.
