The evaluation of university teachers is a systematic project which involves many factors. Regarding different types and levels of teachers, there are many differences associated with evaluation factors and criteria. Researches on multi-attribute decision making approaches could provide decisions on teacher evaluation with scientific and reasonable basis which plays a positive role in promoting the development of teachers and universities.Based on the multi-attribute decision making theory and combined with the characteristics of university teachers, this paper gives a scientific research system for the evaluation scheme of university teachers. Firstly, the comprehensive evaluation index system of university teachers is established and some of the quantification of qualitative index is defined and explored; Secondly, the use of the solution process of uncertain multi-attribute decision-making constructs a decision-making model; Finally, the model is applied to the practice of the general engineering colleges of teacher evaluation, which simplified the complex procedures of the conventional teacher evaluation and confirmed the model’s reliability, scientific and practicality at the same time. The main research results are as follows:(1) From the evaluation of university teachers scheme decision, the decision-making should consider the four basic elements, namely discipline construction, teaching, scientific research and public service work. In order to evaluate the general engineering colleges, according to the subject characteristics and considering the primary and secondary structure of the comprehensive evaluation system, a suitable scientific optimization index system is established.(2) Article details the solving steps of the uncertain multi-attribute decision making problem based on the evaluation of general engineering colleges teachers. To determine the weight of multi-attribute decision-making problems is one of the key links. This paper uses the subjective weight and objective weight combined method to determine the weight of each attribute.(3) The multi-attribute decision-making method is applied to the evaluation of teachers in general universities and colleges of engineering. Quantitative indicators of the evaluation of teachers in research and teaching attributes are sorted by mathematical models, and comparison with conventional methods results the practicality of the model.(4) The decision-making methods and evaluation index model interface is established through the system design, which provides a simple platform for teacher evaluation, and to verify the reasonableness of the evaluation.
