With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, moreand more social problems have been highlighted. Facing increasingly severe population problem,the government are paying more attention to the construction of balanced society betweenpopulation and economy. As we know, only when we understand the relationship betweenpopulation and economy fully and correctly, can we build a sustainable society in population,economy, resource and environment.Firstly, this paper analyzes the present situation of population distribution and economicdevelopment in recent years. Then we measure population and economic center of the wholeprovince and establish the coupling model between the population distribution and population, sowe can have a deep research on the balance of population distribution and economicdevelopment. Finally, in order to offer scientific policy recommendations of regional populationdistribution, we establish the panel data model to recognize the factors which have the effect onthe regional population distribution.Based on the analysis above, we find that, the economy development is faster thanpopulation concentration in Zhoushan while the situation in WenTai areas is opposite. And therelationship between population distribution and economic development in the other areas ofZhejiang Province are coordinating. Then we develop an individual fixed effects model to findthat health level, technology level and economic development are the top three factors whichinfluence the areal population distribution. With the result we provide correspondingsuggestions.
