As the highest form of moral development, self-discipline is the result ofinternalization from the relationship of social value. As the main body of the social futuredevelopment, university students possess higher self-awareness level and rich reserve ofmoral knowledge. Therefore, cultivating students’ moral self-discipline is an importanttask of the moral education in our country. It has important theoretical and practical valueto explore the way of improving college students’ moral self-discipline level from theperspective of self-awareness.This article obtains from the individual self-awareness development, regard thepsychological motivation as the breakthrough point, explore the role of self-awareness inthe formation of college students’ moral self-discipline mechanism as the researchsubject.By exploring abroad study of the relevant theories of moral self-discipline, theconcept of moral self-discipline and self-consciousness summarized on the basis of thecharacteristics and composition, analyzes the individual moral self-discipline to achievemoral psychological conditions.From the theoretical perspective, exploring self-awarenessin the course of forming moral self-discipline mechanism, and through the questionnaireto survey the empirical validation.Finally, from the perspective of individualself-consciousness development to promote college students’ moral self-discipline torealize the cultivation measures.Through theoretical analysis and research, this study concluded that: as amulti-dimensional, multi-level complex psychological system, self-awareness ispsychological motivation of the formation in moral self-motivation. There is positivecorrelation between self-awareness level of the individual’s level and moral self-discipline.During the formation of the moral self-discipline, the dynamic function of self-awarenessaction specific performance:Under the effect of the three adjustable power system, individual self-regulating system, self-directed systems and self-functional system, it ishelpful to deepen self-awareness, enrich self-experience and strengthen self-monitoring,thereby promoting moral cognition, moral emotional, moral will of the coordinateddevelopment. Besides, after cognitive enhancement, emotional excitation, volitionalcontrol through moral criterion, prompt the development of the external moralrequirements into individual moral needs, and enhance students’ sense of moral autonomyas oneself, forming moral self-discipline ultimately.In the process of cultivating college students’ moral self-discipline, we should startwith enhancing the level of college students’ self-awareness, combine with the feature ofcollege students’ self-awareness development stage and age to proceed moral knowledge,moral situation setting, moral practice. Under the three interactions of the cognition, theemotion and the willpower, it will effectively improve the effect of moral education andfurther promote the realization of college students’ moral self-discipline.
