Research universities which are the most important part of higher educationsystem have trained a large number of high-tech innovation talents for society. Sothe teaching quality of research university is directly related to national sciencedevelopment and comprehensive power of our country. Research university teachingactivity depend on the bottom-level organization, which work efficiency couldobviously influence the quality of graduates. Therefore, this paper focuses on thebasic unit of teaching process bottom-teaching organization. You could get aclear picture about the development process of Chinese research university’steaching bottom-level organization and learn more about the advanced experience offoreign high-level universities through literature comparative and theoretical survey.And HIT will be a typical case used for empirical analysis. Then the authorproposes optimization principles and strategies to solve the problems discovered bysurvey.The first part of the paper introduces background, purpose and significance ofthis topic briefly, and illustrates the research present situation, then stresses thenecessity of bottom-level teaching organization reform in research university.Literature review and basic theory are the main body of the second part. Thewriter define several key concepts according to many papers at first, then point outthe most important factors based on review of development process of Chinesebottom-level teaching organization, and describes main theory used in the paper.The three part is generally about the features of bottom-level teachingorganizations in other countries. The basic unit abroad is based on enough academicfreedom and individual teaching, therefore, the form tends to diversity andmiddle-management is becoming more important.HIT is a typical example of Chinese research university. A large number ofinterviews and questionnaires conducted by teachers in HIT help us identifyproblems and found optimization directions.Based on the above theoretical and empirical research, the author suggestbuilding learning bottom-level teaching organization to improve management andenhance organizational cohesion. Besides, the paper design hypertext organizationalstructure and middle-up-down management model to ensure the high efficiency ofnew organization.Overall, the optimization strategy based on literature, theoretical analysis andactual survey provides some guiding for bottom-level teaching development andreform.
