Many researchers have conducted various researches on English classroom activities because classroom activities have played more and more important role in English teaching. A lot of questions about the classroom activity have been proposed during the actual operations of classroom teaching, but the studies of classroom activity still wait for profounder investigations. Therefore, the thesis chooses to investigate the English classroom activities in junior middle school.Firstly, the thesis chooses the Multiple Intelligence Theory as the theoretical foundation of the research. Secondly, the thesis takes four classes in Grade Two of certain junior high school as objects of observation and takes four teachers from these four classes as objects of interview. By observing classrooms and interviewing the teachers, it shows that in English teaching of junior high school, there are mainly five types of classroom activities used by teachers, they are questioning-and-answering, discussion, text role-plays, games and debates. By analyzing the contents of the interview, these activities comply with the conception of teaching under the guidance of the theory of Multiple Intelligences and conductive to the balanced students’ development of Multiple Intelligence. According to the interview, the thesis gets the answers to the third research questions. While implementing classroom activities, the success of class is mainly influenced by awkward silence, low participation, noise and disorder, good beginning and weak ending, poor self-control of the students. The thesis proposes four solutions to the problems as follows: 1. to design activities dedicatedly 2. to assign tasks appropriately 3. to determine the number of group participants and conduct grouping 4. to motivate the interests of the students. This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter aims to introduce the background of the study, significance of the study and overall structure of the thesis. The second chapter begins with literature review of the thesis through presentations of Multiple Intelligence and classroom activity. The third chapter mainly talks about research methodology. The fourth chapter is about the presentations of the research results, where the thesis obtains the answers of the research questions through analyzing them. The fifth chapter is designed to present a summary of this thesis.
