With the rapid economic development of our nation, it is necessary for us to have some economic ties and trade exchanges with other countries. As an international language, English plays an integral role in the world for communication. Therefore, each of us should have studied hard at English from early childhood. Unfortunately, English is not taken seriously until Junior and Senior High School. English is as important as Chinese and Math in the Junior and Senior High School among a range of learning subjects. Of the four basic skills, English reading occupies a very important position. However, English reading in Junior and Senior High School have their own characteristics. Junior High School English reading is intensive reading, which targeting the language practice. It emphasizes students’ exchanges of the known information in the process of reading, students’ guiding summary, induction and consolidated exercises, reading training of linguistic knowledge after reading. Senior High English reading is the reading that targeted at reading skills, language and cultural knowledge( intensive and extensive reading included). It emphasizes students’ search, application for information and training of the thinking skills in the process of reading, students’ self-summary, self-induction of linguistic knowledge, cultural content and expansive practice after reading. It can be seen that the Junior High School English reading teacher can’t easily adapt to the reading teaching in Senior High School. It is very important for teachers to help students adapt to the senior high school study quickly. However, owing to the partition of junior and senior high school, teachers are unfamiliar with each other’s teaching condition. As a result, more and more problems have arisen in students. In a summary, the educational transition of the two stages is becoming more and more important.
