With the deep reform of historical teaching in our country, cultivating historical thinking is gradually paid attention to by education departments and scholars in historical teaching. The historical class in junior middle school also represents new features. The teachers should pay attention on to cultivating the historical thinking and make it to be key teaching points, even the teaching form in class. According to cultivating historical thinking, we should help the students develop the habits of learning historical and understand historical concepts, which making students master the ability of analysis, comparison, induction and comprehensive application.It adopts to the literature search method, classroom case analysis and practice verification in this thesis and concludes the outcomes of historical thinking cultivating at home and abroad and even clears up the concepts of historical thinking. There are many methods to cultivate historical thinking. This paper researches the cultivating the historical thinking based on junior high students development, which is from the classification of historical thinking abilities, historical analysis ability, historical abstract thinking ability and historical practice thinking ability.This paper mainly analyze the reasons about existed problems of cultivating historical thinking in junior high school according to the author’s teaching experience. It studies and proposes the methods to cultivate students’ historical thinking abilities. One is analysis of cultivating historical thinking abilities, historical knowledge framework, historical knowledge clear quantify. The other one is interdisciplinary penetration method to enhance students’ understanding of historical knowledge. Problematic teaching method is to propose some related questions. Historical abstract thinking ability is to use of visual materials and draw so as to cultivating historical thinking ability. With the help of vivid language and analysis of historical concepts, it can cultivate visual historical thinking and abstract historical thinking. Historical and practical thinking ability training is autonomous inquiry teaching method based on the accumulating history. Last but not the least, it is added the author’s historical lesson samples in this paper in order to make the application of cultivating historical thinking in practice.
