Today,when the core quality of history is being implemented in all schools,not only the classroom teaching has changed,but also the way and focus of students’ inspection have changed.The objective requirements of the new version of the history curriculum standard point out that students should rely on reliable historical materials to understand history and initially learn to express their views on history reasonably.The writing of history essay meets the above requirements.Previously,in many places,the importance of history essay was highlighted in the high school entrance examination papers,which put forward higher requirements for students’ historical thinking ability and demonstration ability.However,in the current history teaching of junior middle school,teachers’ teaching of small papers is mostly conducted through explaining exercises,lacking methodological and systematic training.The ultimate goal of this study is to improve students’ writing ability.On the one hand,it is necessary to start from students’ learning,investigate and study the development of students’ writing ability,understand and analyze the difficulties students encounter in writing,and on the other hand,it is necessary to start from teachers’ teaching,observe teaching activities,and put forward suggestions for improvement.In the research,combined with literature research,questionnaire survey,case analysis and other methods,combined with the characteristics of junior high school students’ learning and psychological development,the research was carried out from the theoretical level to the actual teaching.This thesis is divided into five parts,aiming at the research of junior high school students’ writing ability of history essays.The first part is the introduction,which is the preparatory work for the paper writing.It consists of four parts,including the origin,significance,literature review,research content and methods.The second part is about the relevant discussion of the historical essays,including four sections: the definition of the concept,the theoretical basis,the classification of the historical essays,and the role of the historical essays.The definition of the concept is aimed at the core of this study,namely,"history essay" and "writing ability of history essay",to provide a clear goal for the following writing.The third part is the survey part,which is mainly carried out in two directions.One is to conduct a questionnaire survey on students’ writing of history essays,and the other is to conduct an interview survey on teachers’ teaching of history essays.And give a general description of the survey results.The fourth part is to summarize the problems and make attribution analysis.Through the investigation in the previous part,the problems existing in students’ writing and teachers’ teaching are classified and explained,and the reasons for the problems are also found.The fifth part is to put forward the training principles and relevant suggestions.The training principle is the guideline proposed by the follow-up suggestions.The suggestion part is based on the problems found in the previous part.It is proposed from six aspects,including teachers’ professional quality,students’ learning motivation,and the cultivation of students’ abilities in all aspects.It is discussed in the way of combining theory with practice,pointing to the cultivation of junior high school students’ ability to write history essays.
