The cultivation of historical thinking ability is the nucleus of the subject of history. How to develop the historical thinking ability of the junior one students of Suzhou Sports School is an extremely important part for the history teaching during the whole junior middle school stage.Based on the research and investigation on the historical thinking ability theory of junior middle school students, this paper describes the concepts of historical thinking and historical thinking ability in junior middle school history teaching. Starting from the physical and mental characteristics of the junior one student, it analyzes the necessity of the cultivation of historical thinking ability brieflyAccording to the questionnaire investigation of the teachers and the junior one students of Suzhou Sports School, other history teachers and some relevant educational departments, this paper finds some history teaching problems, especially the lack of the training theory and practice experience for teachers, the rational guidance in the history learning for junior one students and the awareness and policy support for the development of the students’ history thinking ability for relevant educational departments and schools.On the basis of these problems, according to the characteristics of junior middle school history teaching, taking the cultivation of historical thinking ability as the goal, this paper discusses the teaching strategies of historical thinking ability training for junior one students of Suzhou Sports School from the three aspects, teachers, students, and the school itself and educational departments, to ensure the effectiveness in the thinking ability training for the students, the author studies the case of the cultivation of historical thinking ability of the junior one students of Suzhou Sports School with the help of relevant teaching theorics and own teaching practice. In expectation, this paper will have a certain reference value for the similar school students.
