A university in its development process,as the external socio-economic environment on the increasing demand for new personnel and technology,as well as dujust the layout of school’s internal discipline plan,will extend some of new specialties.In this study,university extension specialties is defined as the new setting since 2008.The different meaning between university extension specialties and new specialties is that,university extension is to learn new specialties base on a theory of brand extension.Based on each university running characteristics and nature of the school,the university new specialties will be inducted directly related extension specialties and indirectly related extension specialties.Lack of university specialty evaluation practice in our country from the aspect of college students’ right for university specialty education quality evaluation,the input-output type of specialty evaluation method is more to examine the number of educational resources into teaching and teaching achievement output,this method can’t diagnose some management problems in particular university specialty well,ignoring the role of student satisfaction in university specialty quality evaluation.At the same time,study to the new specialties are mostly speculative analysis,mainly is the analysis of existing problems,put forward some countermeasures and suggestions,empirical research is still rare.From the correlation of new specialties and school characteristics study new specialties is very rare.This research takes Southwest Jiaotong University 6 undergraduate extension specialties as an example to carry out the investigation and research.Based on the reputation and characteristics of rail transportation about Southwest Jiaotong University,the directly related extension specialties are defined as Logistics Management,Applied Physics and the Internet of Things Engineering,the indirectly related extension specialties are defined as Applied Psychology,Chinese International Education and Translation.The following conclusions are made in this paper from the entire process of investigation and research results.First,student perceived quality of university extension specialty to student satisfaction and student behavior intention has positive correlation,student satisfaction level reflects the specialty quality of high and low.Student satisfaction is existed positive correlation on student behavior intention.Second,risk perception level of direct extension specilties is lower than the indirect extension specilties,and risk perception level has a negative correlation on student satisfaction.Third,the two independent samples t test results show that the directly related extension specilties and indirectly related extension specilties have significant differences on education quality,student satisfaction and risk perception.Fourth,the whole process of questionnaire survey also explains the research of specialty evaluation on the actual operation is easy and feasible,student evaluation can be carried out at more specialties.Finally,based on research findings,the paper cecommends every university pay attention to student evaluation,and evaluate connotation quality,university should carry out student satisfaction strategy,in order to improve the student satisfaction as the core, diagnose problems,improve the quality,and establish long-term effective mechanism of student assessment.This paper reference model of brand extension and brand extension influencing factors,put forward several countermeasures and suggestions for universties to better implement specilties extension strategy.
