College and university teachers, as the core of college and university academic work force, shoulder the important responsibilities to inherit, create and develop academic skills. The quality of academic behaviors of college and university teachers will directly affect the quality of education and academic level in the universities. However, in recent years, academic misconduct of college and university teachers keeps intensifying and expanding. This is not only related to the teachers’ own development and construction of college academic atmosphere, but also to the development of China’s academic career and education. Therefore, it has a strong practical significance. By understanding and analyzing the causes of academic misconduct of college and university teachers, taking effective measures to reduce the occurrence of the behavior.Starting from the prevention and improvement of academic misconduct of college and university teachers in the system, this study will combine literature methodology and case studies, theories and practices, use the dialectical method from the individual to the general. Several typical and representative cases of academic misconduct of college and university teachers in recent years will also be used as cases, analyzes the institutional reasons behind it, thus analysis the institutional attribution of academic misconduct of college and university teachers. Trying to improve the prevention and treatment of institutionalized path of the act, thereby correct the academic behavior of college and university teachers, purification academic atmosphere, promote the healthy and smooth development of China’s academic career. The main contents include the following elements:The first part, from the perspectives of social disorder theory and neo-institutional economics, analyzes the reasons of academic misconduct of college and university teachers as well as the relations between current system and the misconduct, and illustrates that system factor is the substantial reason of the academic misconduct of college and university teachers.The second part starts with the status quo of college and university teachers’ academic misconduct. First, the study lists the typical cases of college and university teachers’ academic misconduct in recent years, revealing the generality and seriousness of college and university teachers’ academic misconduct. Second, the study selects two typical cases to draw lessons and run empirical analysis for institutional improvement. Finally, through the analysis of the cases above, and take the process of academic activities of college and university teachers as the mainline. Combined with the official stipulation of academic misconduct, the study gives a description of the foresaid behavior and reveals the institutional reasons for the same.The third is the main part of the study. Through the above-mentioned analysis, the author makes a systematical attribution analysis of college and university teachers’ academic misconduct. The author also conducts a detailed analysis on system deficiency and existing issues mainly from the aspects of academic norms system, academic appraisal system, academic accountability system, academic journal system and pertinent laws and regulations.The fourth part summarizes prevention strategies in detail for college and university teachers’ academic misconduct from the aspects of the improvement of academic norms system building, the construction of scientific academic appraisal system, the building of a sound and effective academic accountability system, the standardization of academic results publication and improvement of laws and regulations of academic misconduct, etc.
