Primary education plays an important role as a basic education for young people.In recent years,science education has continued to develop,and science education in primary school has received more and more attention from all walks of life.China's primary science curriculum consists of four major modules: material science,life sciences,earth and space science,technology and engineering.Such a comprehensive approach will inevitably put forward higher requirements for the teaching methods and concepts of science teachers,discipline quality,and business capabilities.At the same time,STEM education has arisen abroad.STEM is the abbreviation of the English initials of Science,Technology,Engineering,and Mathematics.The connotation of science is to understand the world and explain the objective laws of existence in nature;The connotation of technology and engineering is to transform the world on the basis of respecting the natural and objective laws,so as to realize the control of the natural world,and use these laws to solve various problems encountered in the process of social development;The connotation of mathematics is the basic tool for the discipline of technology and engineering.Thus,STEM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning,STEM education integrates the educational concepts and knowledge of the four sciences of science,technology,engineering and mathematics.Breaking the barriers of disciplines and dispersing them into a holistic approach to education,integrating STEM education into subject teaching can explore the connections between disciplines in practice,fully embody the subjectivity of students,and promote students' independent learning and all-round development.This article will infiltrate STEM education on the basis of teaching design and practice of elementary science curriculum,and hopes to provide some experienceand help for domestic scholars and frontline teachers in this field of research and practice.The paper is divided into the following five parts:The first part: Explain the background,purpose and significance of STEM education into the primary science curriculum teaching case,and explain the research content and research methods,and comprehensively discuss the research and implementation of STEM education at home and abroad.The second part: Explain the theoretical basis of the design and implementation part of the study case.They are constructivist theory,“learning by doing” theory,project-based learning theory and core literacy system.The third part: Interpretation of the objectives and content selection of the science curriculum in primary school in China,and analyzes the science curriculum of primary school in China from three aspects: curriculum setting,curriculum objectives and curriculum content.It is also the fourth part of "STEM Education Penetration Primary Science".Teaching case design and implementation provides theoretical basis and policy basis.The fourth part: Based on the theoretical basic research in the second part of this paper and the research on the objectives and contents of the third part of the primary science curriculum,the STEM penetrates into the teaching design and implementation of the science curriculum of the primary school,and describes the implementation and reflection.The fifth part: summarize the article and put forward some thoughts on your own.Point out the shortcomings of this study and look forward to the integration of STEM education into the elementary science curriculum.
