With the implementation of the new curriculum reform geography, local geography resources have become an integral part of geography teaching. For the moment, most of the experts and scholars emphasize that the use of local geography resources should be used in geography teaching, but the study on the utilization of local geography resources in high school geography teaching are relatively few. In view of this, this paper takes Qionglai in Sichuan province as research background to explore the utilization of local geography resources in high school geography teaching. And I hope this paper can provide some available geography teaching resources and teaching suggestions to high school geography teachers in Qionglai. The main contents of the study include four parts:(1)This paper describes the theoretical basis of the utilization of integrating High School Geography teaching and local geography resources. The main theory is as follows: Cognitivism Learning Theory, Constructivism Learning Theory, Theory of Motivation, Perceptual and Rational Theory, Regional PRED Theory, Interaction Theory and so on.(2)The author formulates a questionnaire about the use of local geography resources among 47 geography teachers from 5 high schools in Qionglai, the vast majority of high school geography teachers have a certain understanding about local geography resources. But they do not regard the local geography resources with local characteristics as a teaching resource integration of their geography teaching. In addition, the author interviewed some school leaders from three high schools, both education authorities and school leaders recognize that the local geography resources play an important role in teaching high school geography. However, due to the influence of college entrance rate, development funds, student safety issues and other factors, the development and utilization of local geography resources is not able to be implemented.(3)Through consulting books and doing a visit, the author has learned specific contents of natural geography resources and human geography resources in Qionglai. Integrating with high school geography textbooks compulsory Ⅱ and the local geography resources, the author has written classical cases of textbook and field work plan.(4)During the teaching in NO.2 middle school of Qionglai, the author has carried out teaching experiments in two classes of Senior one, according to the experiments. Integrating local geography resources into high school geography teaching, the author has developed the unique advantages: Improving the quality of high school geography teaching; Developing students’ memorizing ability, graphics interpreting ability, capacity and practical abilities etc.; Enhancing geography teaching’s interesting and practicality; Stimulating students’ interest in learning geography; Helping students better understand their hometown and arouse students’ local emotion at the same time.
