Conic curve including the circle, the ellipse, the hyperbola and the parabola, which occupies a very important position in the high school mathematics. The parabola is often the object of test in the college entrance examination, and it is often tested combining with the circle,the ellipse, the hyperbola, and every year there will be a comprehensive topic in the answer questions. Because there are many knowledge points in the conic curve, and the knowledge points are close between the ellipse, the hyperbola and the parabola, so it is not easy for the students to learn. Then, how to teach effectively in the problem solving teaching for the teachers and how to learn for the students. So I decided to select the parabola as the practical research in problem solving teaching, summarize and put forward some suggestions on parabolic in problem solving teaching.This paper is mainly divided into six parts:The first part is introduction, mainly expounds the study background, the significance, the literature review, the contents and the innovation point. The second part is the theoretical basis of the problem solving teaching, including the problem solving theory of George Polya and the theory of constructivism. The third part is the questionnaire test of the students learning of the parabola, it is the most important part of this paper. Based on the curriculum standards and the requirements of teaching, the students was carried on a questionnaire test, that the purpose is to understand the students’learning situation of the parabola and pave the way for the problem solving teaching. The fourth part is the research on parabolic problem solving teaching, there are problem solving teaching designs for the nature of parabola, the model of parabola and the application of mathematical thinking in the parabola, so it can help students to construct knowledge network by solving the problem, and cultivate students’problem solving ability after solving problems, which pay more attention to the students learning methods. It also studied the problem of the fixed point and the problem of the tangent in the parabola. The fifth part is about the proposal of the parabola in the problem solving teaching, through the learning of the students in the questionnaire and the design of the problem solving teaching, there are given problem solving teaching suggestions on the parabola respectively from three aspects of the theory of problem solving, the problem solving teaching and the guidance for the students. The end of the paper is mainly on the summary of the content and my research experience.
