The Study About Postgraduate Students’ Current Life Quality

Purpose and meaning This report mainly focus on analyzing the correlation between life quality, personal characteristics and subjective well-being through probing postgraduate student’s quality of life status and characteristics. By exploring the factors of postgraduate student’s quality of life, this report provides basis on improving the life quality, as well as offers some references on ideological and political education in colleges.Method and objection Study objection:(1) select 630 postgraduate students among Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing Normal university, Nanjing University of Technology and Nanjing University of Science and Technology as samples to conduct quantitative research.(2) select 8 postgraduates students of Nanjing Medical University to conduct qualitative study.study method :(1)Exploring the students by questionnaires including well-being Scale(GWB), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ), a comprehensive assessment of the quality of life questionnaire(GQOLI-74).(2)Analyzing 18 students’ interviews by using qualitative study,and exploring the factors that affect life quality.Results(1)The quality of life,personal characteristics and general well-being in different genders all have meanings in statistics(P <0.05- P <0.01)(2)The quality of life,personal characteristics and general well-being in different majors all have meanings in statistics(P <0.05- P <0.01)(3)The quality of life,personal characteristics and general well-being in different grades all have meanings in statistics(P <0.05- P <0.01)(4)The quality of life,personal characteristics and general well-being in different income levels all have meanings in statistics(P <0.05- P <0.01)(5)The quality of life,personal characteristics and general well-being in different marital status all have meanings in statistics(P <0.05- P <0.01)(6)The regression analysis shows :the factors of worrying about happiness,alack and tension make negative predictions of life quality(b=-0.391,b=0-0.198);energy, melancholy and good posture,the control of rmotions and behaviors and the satisfactions of life make positive predictions of life quality(b=0.213,b=0.497,b=0.432);(7)Among the personality factors, nervousness and psychoticism make negative predictions of life quality(b=-0.241, b=-0.225),while introversion and extroversion, as well as conceal don’t have significant effect.Conclusions(1)Among all the life quality conditions, Women’s are better than men’s, and students in second year, their life quality are the compared with others; and for the students who learn liberal arts,theirs are better than others’. Married live a better life.(2)subjective well-being and personality can help predict life qualities better, and they are also important factors.(3)By the means of improving the personality and increasing happiness to boost postgraduate student’s life quality, what’s more,pay some attention to the factors such as gender, major and marital status.
