The study focuses on the specific practice of school-running model of independent college transformation to entrepreneurial university. It attempts to not only solve the theoretical problem of independent college transformation to entrepreneurial university, but also take City College of Southwest University of Science and Technology(City College) as an example to illustrate the practice of independent college transformation to entrepreneurial university.Chapter 1 introduces the background and practical significance. This section explains the reason of studying entrepreneurial university and the reason of studying the school-running model of independent college transformation to entrepreneurial university, compares and contrasts the construction and development of the entrepreneurial universities both home and abroad, to offer some reference to the general universities and colleges’ transformation to entrepreneurial universities.Chapters 2 and 3 concentrate on theoretical support. This section introduces the origin of entrepreneurial university. Based on some relevant theories such as Burton Clark’s Organizational Transformation Theory, Henry Etzkowitz’s Triple Helix Theory and Slaughter Sheila’s Academic capitalism, it concludes that entrepreneurial university is an organization which takes knowledge creation and knowledge application as the goal, bridges and incentive policies as the mechanism, diversified funds and university autonomy as the achievement. In school management, establish a strong core of leadership and aggressively introduce the industry management experience; In talents training, pay attention to cultivating the innovative spirit and the support of entrepreneurship practice to form the entrepreneurial culture; In financial management, actively seek the source of “third channel funds” and develop diversified funding base; In the peripheral expansion of development, establish service consciousness and actively expand the relationship with government and enterprises.Chapter 4 is the connecting link between the preceding part and the following part,which analyzes the necessity, possibility and adaptability of entrepreneurial university model, besides, it concludes that the model is a strategic choice for independent college transformation in our country, and independent college aiming at fostering applied technological talents is more suitable for the transformation to entrepreneurial university.Chapters 5 is a case study. The research is carried out by analyzing the practice of City College transformation to entrepreneurial university, through interviewing the managers and staff of the college, and consulting the special meeting materials and policy system.Chapter 6 summarizes the transformation of entrepreneurial university, which should consider the school-based academic ability and entrepreneurship management system as the breakthrough point and focus on the top-level design and flat management mode.
