With the development of the reforms and opening-up of China, guiding students to cherish life, respect life, thanks life and enjoy the college life education emerges as the time require.Colleges and universities’ life education is the education that pay attention to the humanistic education of the college students’ life.It not only can prevent the college students’ suicide, homicide, and violence, but also inspire students to understand life state, grasp the characteristics of consciousness, learning the knowledge of life, culture life, improve the value of life and enhance the realm of life.On the basis of reading a large number of references, this paper try to review and summarize the life education thoughts of Confucius study for providing theoretical support and practical guidance of the current life education in colleges and universities. The core of Confucius’ education thoughts is about life, the goal is to achieve the kernel of life ethics, and the methods is lively. It is beneficial to solve the problem of neglecting traditional culture education when we studying further of this and can connect the traditional and modern, revive to explore the traditional culture of life. Meanwhile,it can inject the fresh blood of traditional culture to the college life education.In chapter one, the introduction to this study is to elaborate that this paper is beneficial to the development and improvement of the current life education theory in colleges and universities, and can provide certain theoretical support for the practice of life education theory in colleges and universities.it also pointed out the necessity of this study is that the former studies about Confucius are lack of life education thought. The author elaborated the writing ideas and innovations of this paper on the basis of former studies in the domestic and overseas.The second chapter mainly discusses the life education in colleges and universities related concept. The author in this chapter, mainly discussed the connotation of life education, and the main content of life education in colleges and universities as well as the necessity for a more detailed explanation, to establish the theory base for the following discussion.The third chapter mainly discusses the theoretical system of the life education thought. First from the connotation of the life 、life-death, life ethics contained in the education thoughts of Confucius and elaborated its with the rich content of life education.Secondly, it mainly discusses the methods and thoughts of Confucius life education goal; Thirdly, the author summarizes the distinct characteristics of Confucius’ life education thoughts, that is yearning for a harmonious life and pay attention to the the meaning of life; Finally, the author simply discusses the education thoughts of Confucius’ life historical limitations.The fourth chapter analyzed the life education thoughts of Confucius in the reference value of the life education of colleges and universities.Its value lies in the revelation of life education in colleges and universities should have the awareness of student-oriented, and take the lead of moral education, give full play to students’ subjective initiative, guide students to cherish life, respect nature, properly handle relations between heaven and man, reveal the way of harmony between nature and man, and make students based on fully aware of self to achieve optimal development, promote self transcendence of life.
