As early as the 1990 s,life education began to come into our sight,but it did not get the attention it deserved.In recent years,the low age of student suicide and frequent campus violence once again warn us that the implementation of life education is urgent.Primary school Chinese textbooks contain rich elements of life education,which provides a good foundation for us to penetrate into life education.What elements of life education exist in Chinese textbooks? What is the difference between mainland and Taiwan‘s primary school Chinese textbooks? In order to solve these problems,based on literature review and previous experience,the researchers divided the life education elements into four main categories: life growth education,ecological education,life and death education and life value education.These main categories are subdivided into subcategories and studied according to these categories.Through these four main categories and the nine subcategories derived from them,the researchers found that there were some similarities and differences in frequency,grade distribution,theme and content between the edition compiled by the ministry of education of the mainland and the edition of Taiwan kang xuan.For example,the proportion of cross-strait textbooks containing life education elements is not much different,with 22.1 percent of the partial edition and 26.7 percent of the kang xuan edition.However,in the analysis of specific categories,it is found that the mainland attaches more importance to life and death education,followed by life value education.However,Taiwan attaches most importance to life value education,followed by ecological education.The following Suggestions are given: 1.The selected text should be more systematic and reflect more explicit logic of life education theory.More systematic,more balanced and more cohesive composition is conducive to teachers' teaching and students' learning.2.The choice of text should be more humane.In the process of textbook selection,we should reduce the description of the fact,meaning and value of death,and increase the content of how to face death and adjust ourselves,so as to truly realize human concern.The choice of essay should be more close to students' life.We should pay attention to choose more close to the content of students' life and easy to arouse students' emotional resonance of the article,in order to achieve the best educational effect.
