School improvement has become the focus topic of theory and practice research in the field of education all over the world. With the school improvement research progress gradually deepening, the research perspective also become constantly rich and all round, and comprehensive research on it has become the trend of foreign study. Creating a favorable study environment where student can learn and develop is the pursuit of school education from beginning to end. John Dewey said in Democracy and Education:"The adults consciously control the environment of students and let them act, think and feel etc. in this environment. The school is still a typical environment, which could influence the intelligence and moral tendency of students." Studying on school improvement from the perspective of learning environment not only accords with the pursuit of education purposes but also responses to the trend of comprehensive research on school improvement. At the same time, school improvement is merely in view of the traditional learning environment in the information time. This require to respond to the requirements of education informatization, change the way of teaching and learning and construct a new learning environment. Smart learning environment (SLE) is an important trend of the development for education informatization, and an important support to realize the change of teaching and learning. The construction of SLE is an effective way and an inevitable choice for school improvement.SLE is a new and developing research field in our country and the research results mainly focus on the theory. Through the literature analysis method and case analysis method, the author finds the connotation and relation of school improvement and SLE. Based on the enlightenment of the related theoretical basis, the construction strategy of SLE is put forward. The dissertation is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction. This part introduces the background and relevant literature of school improvement and SLE. Then defines the core concepts.And the purpose, significance, thought and method of this study are also illustrated.The second part is the connotation of SLE. Through the analysis and carding of the existing views for SLE, it reveals the connotation, technical basis and characteristics for the construction of SLE and the difference between smart and traditional learning environment.The third part is the theoretical basis of SLE. The study reveals the contents of situated cognition theory, activity theory, distributed cognition theory, connectivism learning theory and the ecology theory. Its enlightenment to the construction of the SLE is also studied.The forth part is the mechanism analysis of SLE construction to promote school improvement. The construction of SLE can promote the improvement of the internal operation mechanism and the external guarantee mechanism of school improvement.The fifth part is the case of SLE construction and its beneficial enlightenment is also analyzed.The sixth part is the construction strategy of SLE. According to the above study, the construction strategy of SLE is put forward, which includes equipped with the physical environment; change the way of teaching and learning; the formation of learning community; the design of teaching activities; the innovation of organization and management.
