Literacy teaching is the foundation of Chinese teaching, but also the basis of the whole education. Although many experts, scholars and teachers have done a lot of research and explored much, the experiments involving literacy teaching almost major in the stage of primary school, minor in the middle school, especially which is in rural area. The author, taking the Wuyi Quantou Middle School of Hebei as an example, probes a lot to analyze the problems into the situation of literacy teaching carried by the rural middle schools, of which the answerable strategies is put forward on the basis.This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter defines the concept of literacy teaching, relates the status quo of the relative study on the literacy teaching of middle schools and provides the evidence for the performance of literacy teaching in rural middle schools. Chapter 2 is concentrated to prove the importance and the necessity of performing literacy teaching in the stage of middle school. Chapter 4 probes deeply into the status quo of literacy teaching in Wuyi Quantou Middle School and analyze the reason causing its problems and difficulties. Under the investigation and analysis in Chapter 3, Chapter 4 is contributed to deal with the issue on literacy teaching of rural education, which counts and is discussed dividedly from Grade 1 t to Grade 3. Grade 1 falls into the period of the elementary, involves testing deficiencies to make up faults and teaching the way to read, developing the habit of independently reading; Grade 2 aims to accumulate words and values the expansion and richness of vocabulary; As Grade 3 polarizes, for top students, it goes into the moment of leaping from quantitative change to change, as the reviewing and application counts at this stage; for disadvantaged students, it means the more practice to master basic knowledge and finish their studies.
