The Chinese outside reading is an important means and the way toincreases the students’ knowledge, raises their ability and promotestheir accomplishment. It can establish the foundation of students’lifelong study and be good for their development of individuality. Withthe new course reforms constantly go deep, more and more educationalworkers realize the outside reading have an indispensable and promotingeffect on student’s development of their character and their ability.As an important component of the new course reform, the outside readingshould cause the attention of the administrative office of school, andshould be brought into the common practice of the administration of school.How about the present state of the junior students’ outside reading inrural area? As the basic education department, how does the rural areaschool deal with the Chinese outside reading? What is the major reasonof the present problem? How should these problems be solved?The main aim of this thesis is to find out the present problem ofstudents’ outside reading in junior middle school in rural area by wayof investigating the present state of the junior students’ outside readingin Panyu suburban area, and to put forward the main strategies to improvethe management of the students’ outside reading in junior middle schoolin rural area. It’s hoped that it can provide the profitable source of the management of the students’ outside reading in junior middle schoolin rural area.This thesis has five chapters. The first chapter,the introductionincludes the background of this research, the purpose and the meaning ofthis research, the content and the methods of the research. This secondchapter mainly introduces the present situation of the research on themanagement of the students’ outside reading. It’s found that themanagement system in junior schools in rural area are lack ofsystemization, standardization and systematization by reading documents.Chapter three tries expounding the basic theory to the outside readingmanagement of junior middle school. First it gives the definition to themanagement of the student’s outside reading in junior middle school andinquires into its meaning. From the aspects of society, school, teacher,student and family etc. it tries to inquire into the major restrictionfactor of outside reading managementThe fourth chapter is mainly about the results of the questionnaireand the interviews on the present situation of the students’ outsidereading in junior middle school in rural area, and the management of thestudents’ outside reading in junior middle school in rural area whichshows that the students’ outside reading in junior middle school in ruralarea has the following features: the students’ interests are abundantbut the motives are various, the reading contents are extensive butpartial eclipse seriously, the reading quantity is delighted but thereading time is limited,the reading habits is uneven and still needs guide,the source of reading material is unitary and the students’ outsidereading is lack of atmosphere. All this gives the fact that the students’outside reading in junior middle school in rural area is at a low leveland the current situation is not satisfied. The current situation of thestudents’ outside reading in junior middle school in rural area has greatrelation with the management of in junior middle school in rural area.To the management level, the school invests not enough in the hardware, and the rate of utilization of the material is low. The management of thestudents’ outside reading is not enough and the students’ outsidereading time is hard to guaranty.The outside reading guidance from teacher is lack and the directionsfrom the teachers are not strong and doesn’t direct to the students injunior middle school in rural area. What the teachers have done is limitedand has a weak influence on the students’ outside reading.The analysis result shows that: the conventional concept towards themanagement is the basic reason of the transposition error of themanagement of the students’ outside reading and the lack ofsystematization of management is the direct reason of the transpositionerror of the management of the students’ outside reading.The fifth chapter puts forward the following improvement tacticsagainst the above problem: First, to establish the thought foundationstone, the conventional concept for the outside reading should be changed.Second, plans should be made to back up the outside reading. Third, makegood use of the resources to build the solid brick tile of the managementof the outside reading. Fourth, train a number of teacher to set up astrong pillar for the management of the outside readingFinally, carry on the pluralistic ways of evaluation system to providethe science check for the management of the outside reading.
