In order to carry forward the Chinese traditional sports culture,to develop school-based and local curriculum,to cultivate students’ lifelong sports view,by the method of documentation, questionnaire investigation, comparative analysis and mathematical statistics research methods, taking Fujian and Taiwan elementary school teachers as the research objects,we investigate the relevant informationand here are the conclusions: Firstly,both Fujian and Taiwan’s “Ministry of Education” have proposed relevant policies which requires to develop folk sports project at school. Secondly,lacking of folk sports teachers is the main reason why most school unable to conduct mainly part of folk sports. Thirdly,students’ understanding of the folk sports is not enough and their motivations and various. Fourthly,the development of folk sports in school has lots problems,such as the equipment and playground are not enough.Fifthly,even though the curriculum setting is the same between Fujian and Taiwan,but they have different properties, and so does the school proportion of folk sports. Sixth,the teaching content of folk sports in Fujian and Taiwan have less quantity,besides,they are restricted to some kind of small folk sports. Last but not least,we give some advices on how to improve this condition: the government should take more policy supports into folk sports,and sharingand exchange teachers can be take into consideration, students can take part in the folk sports communication activities during summer holiday or winter vacation,improving the folk sports curriculum system is also necessary, focusing on the folk sports resources and taking more time to sorting and researching are essential.Through this research,we’re hoping for providing strong theoretical basis for the development of folk sports in Fujian and Taiwan elementary schools,and promoting the education cooperation as well as economic ties between this two provinces.
