Today, technology is changing rapidly. Innovation has become an important factor restricting the development of a country, and innovative talent has also become a key issue in long-term national competitiveness. "Qian Xuesen’s Questions", which have puzzled us for years, have pointed directly at the current educational system which has become an obstacle for the cultivation of innovation ability of students, and expressed the strong need for educational reform and educational innovation.Since June 2012, Suzhou City has launched "Weichang Experimental Project" in the name of the famous scientist-Qian Weichang, which is symbolized by "Educational innovation is great (Wei) and profound (Chang)". Up to now, this project has recruited students for three years. This project is meant to select excellent primary school graduates with potential, and then apply the experimental plan of top middle school students to them, so as to help improve the transition between middle/high school top students plan and university top students plan. Through the implementation of a series of reforms in school-running system, educational system, curriculum, environment, evaluation, etc., this project tries to explore a new path which can help improve student innovative spirit and ability of practice, and offer experience and a new normal form for primary and secondary school educational innovation and reform.After three years of experiment, what effects has such an important task with strategic significance made? Based on the research question "What are the effects of Weichang Experiment on middle school student innovation quality?", this thesis focuses on the following topics:What are the effects of Weichang Experiment on middle school student innovation quality? What are the effects of head teachers’ teacher-student interaction style? What are the effects of classroom teaching environment? Based on the comparative study of the above three factors, this thesis analyzes what factors have stronger influences on the formation of student innovation quality.This thesis has seven parts. The introduction part includes reasoning for the topic, core concepts, and research significance; Chapter Two is the review of innovation quality research and relative articles; Chapter Three mainly illustrates the design and method of this research; Chapter Four is the introduction of the formation and usage of measuring tools, including the formation and testing of "Student Perception Expectation Questionnaire", "Teacher Style Questionnaire". "My Classroom Questionnaire", and "Innovation Quality Self-concept Questionnaire"; Chapter Five is the objective analysis and description of the research results; Chapter Six is the statistic analysis of the research results, including the expectation effect of Weichang Project, the effect of head teacher’s teacher-student interaction style, and the correlation analysis and regression analysis of classroom environment of Weichang Experiment and students’ self-evaluation of innovation quality; Chapter Seven is research conclusion and relative suggestions.The research results show that:1. There is a positive correlation between the expectation effect of Weichang Experiment Project and students’ self-evaluation of innovation quality; 2. The stronger a head teacher’s leadership skills are, the more positive the teacher-student interaction will be (including giving students more freedom, becoming more understanding, friendly, and helpful to students, becoming more strict with students, etc.), and it has a positive effect on students’self-evaluation of innovation quality; 3. The more innovative the classroom teaching environment is (including stronger innovative thinking of teachers, more innovative behavior of teachers, more support of students’ innovative behavior and thinking from teachers, students’ better understanding of the learning tasks, and appropriate competitiveness), the more positive effect it has on the cultivation of students’ innovation quality.The research conclusion is:First, from the perspective of facilitating basic education innovation reform, Weicahng Experiment Project, as an original project, could be regarded as a significant education innovation reform project which is from the basic level, demonstrative and positive; Second, from the perspective of implementing Weichang Experiment Project in school, adequate importance should be attached to the expectation effect of this project and it should also be expanded, so as to facilitate the development of students’ innovation quality, and especially with the consideration into how to let students internalize this expectation effect to a long-term self-fulfilling prophecy effect; Third, encouragement should be given to teachers of Weichang Experiment to adopt more positive and diverse teaching and educational innovative thinking, pay attention to innovative methods of classroom teaching, give students more positive expectations, and adopt different teaching to students with different characteristics; Last but not the least, from the perspective of academic research and policy, more research and encouragement about the evaluation, cultivation, and support of development is in need.
