Since the end of last century, children’s psychological health education has aroused the widespread concern of all social sectors along with the socioeconomic development of China.In recent years, many a scholar has made various studies on the problems concerning children’s psychological health, finding that parenting style is the significant factor influencing children’s psychological health.In previous studies, primarily conducted research on parenting styles and children’s self-esteem and achievement motivation, social development and other psychological quality of relationship.In this study, parents training on positive discipline approach to parenting group intervention, finding in favor of child development parenting stylesThis study includes the following two parts:The first part of the content for the parenting styles of investigation,290 pupils in grades 3-5 of two primary schools in Changsha City, Hunan Province are selected as the subjects to be tested in reliance on EMBU. The current situation of family education, particularly parenting, has been ascertained by dint of the investigation into parenting style. The second part of the study of parenting intervention methods,Methods:A single factor completely randomized experimental design. Through interviews conducted in the form of screening for group intervention study the child’s parents.fathers and mothers who are chosen according to procedure are randomized into two groups:experimental group and control group. Group intervention training is implemented for the experimental group according to the preset scheme (six weeks; once a week;Every two hours). The control group is only required to carry out conventional activities. As shown by the experimental result, in the first step, the control group and experimental group are tested simultaneously to achieve the pre-test result before experiment; in the second step, the two groups are tested at the same time upon the completion of intervention study to attain the post-test result; in the third step, three months after the completion of intervention study, the experimental group is tested to observe whether the intervention test result is stable. Below are the conclusions of this study:1. The parenting style is significantly different in gender and residence;2. The parenting style is insignificantly different in the grade of their children;3. According to comparison about the pre-test result, post-test result and the re-test result of the two groups after three months, the intervention carried out in the light of the group intervention scheme with positive discipline designed as the contents can improve parenting styles effectively, and therefore deserve further popularization.
