Recent years, with the step of reform and opening up, China has been under tremendous changes. The rapid economic development brings people fast-pace life and high pressure from society, which therefore make people’s physical and mental health under risk. With the intensification of this problem, pressures, especially occupation pressure are paid more and more attention by people.China is now at stage of social transition, which causes social structural imbalance and social conflicts intensified. In this critical period of social transformation, in order to better safeguard national security and social stability, a new kind of police called Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) comes into being. Due to the special nature of SWAT duties, the SWAT police, who are always under work condition of high pressure, high risk, high load and high stress are vulnerable to occupational pressure.As a special occupational groups, the psychological problems is related not only to theirs individuals but also to the whole society, which therefore cannot be ignored. However, quite a few number of academic researches on occupational pressure of SWAT can be seen,and most of them are conducted from a psychological point of view which is cannot fully analyze and solve the problem. This paper, taking SWAT teams of H City for instance, innovatively introduces social work theory and methods to analyze and summarize the occupational pressure of SWAT. Then a series of group activities are designed to intervene the occupational pressure of SWAT and the results are discussed.In the beginning of this paper, the author introduces the background of the research and the significance of the topic, emphasizing the necessity, importance and urgency of studying the SWAT occupational pressure. By collection, reading, analyses and summarizing a large number of documents, the author states the research status at home and abroad about SWAT occupational pressure, laying foundations for the further study.In the second part, the author takes the officers in SWAT of H City as subjects. Using the method of questionnaires and the method of field research, through long-term observation contact, large numbers of interviews and issuing questionnaire, the author a lot of precious firsthand materials. By classifying, analyzing the materials, the article summarizes the occupational pressure faced by the SWAT team members. And the third part of the paper analyzes the causes of occupational pressure found on SWAT team members, which are epitomizes in four aspects:from the work itself, from organizational management, from member individual and from the social supports.The heavy occupational pressure makes SWAT members in deep anxiety, worry, resentment and other negative emotion, which will not only affect the officers’ work enthusiasm, but also be bad for the stability and development of H City. In the fourth part, aiming at the pressure reasons mentioned before the author proposes several solutions to enhance the work enthusiasm of SWAT team members.In the fifth part, by introducing the concept of social work, based on the social work theory, the author designs team activities to intervene the problem of SWAT officers’ occupational pressure of H City. Group work activities intervene occupational stress of team members, specifically ease pressure on their career. The six group activities enjoys a good atmosphere, in which team members give positive responses, respect each other and help each other. Through group activities, group members can understand and face pressure correctly to relieve their negative emotions. Besides, the group activities give the group members a better realization of themselves, which can improve their self-esteem and help them reach their full potential. After the activities, the members can actively seek and establish a social support system, which means communicating with others and establishing good inter personal relationships. To their jobs, the officers can think rationally instead of irrationally, which improve their identity of their occupation.The last part summarizes the article. The author proposes solutions to SWAT occupational stress in macro by the way of social work and points out new research directions on alleviating occupational pressure of SWAT and social work localization studies.
