In recent years,elementary education has made great progress in China. As the basic elements and units of the school management, the importance is self-evident in class management. In other words, the co-operation between head teachers and subject teachers has a remarkable influence on class management. But with the actual situation, as a result of the big gap in the income between high school head teachers and subject teachers, their different understanding of their duties as well as teachers’ different educational concepts, there still exist much conflict between them.On the basis of previous studies and lively examples, through questionnaires and conversations with head teachers and subject teachers, the study is divided into four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the related findings of this study both at home and abroad, make sure of the aims and the practicability of the study. The second chapter is mainly about the analysis of the questionnaires, which enable us to have a clearer idea of the conflicts problems, making it possible to strengthen the co-operation between them. Through the analysis of the questionnaires and conversations with head teachers and subject teachers, the third chapter has found the basic causes of the conflicts between them, including both head teachers’ and subject teachers’ as well as the schools’. With the help of the analysis in the third chapter, the last chapter mainly discusses those possible effective measures to avoid the conflicts and strengthen their co-operation. For example, the “S-style” subject teacher-choosing system builds a bridge of trust and respect between head teachers and subject teachers; the bundling reward will greatly drives them to work together; more help from experienced teachers helps green teachers grow more quickly; regular class meetings will make both head teachers and subject teachers know their own duties more clearly.In conclusion, head teachers are central to class management, and subject teachers are supposed to participate in class management more actively, creating a better educational atmosphere with them co-operating with each other and getting the management improved greatly. More importantly, such measures will definitely lay a solid foundation for the healthy growth and the comprehensive development of all students’ —the main subject of education.
