Research On Master Of Social Work(MSW)’Practical Ability:Realistic Difficulties And Improving Path

Practical ability is one of the short board of social work Personnel training in Chinese mainland. The university plays a pivotal role in improving the practical ability of social workers. Therefore, it is significant to study how to improve the practical ability of MSW.The research chooses S university as a case, chooses MSW in 2013 as an object, to study its realistic difficulties and improving path.Most previous studies chose MSW’s professional ability as an object, and rarely chose the MSW as the main body. On the basis of previous studies, this study suggests that we can define the practical ability from direct service ability and indirect service ability. The main factors affecting the MSW’s practical ability are recognition of the value, theoretical teaching, practical operation, professional supervision, examination and evaluation.According to interviews and literature review, this study suggests that the realistic difficulties of MSW’s practical ability training are the imperfect instructional design, single practical operation content, incomplete professional supervision, unsound Examination and evaluation system and so on. And stating the practical ability’s improving path from the micro, meso and macro level. At the micro level, it includes improving instructional design, enriching practical operation content, enhancing professional supervision, building examination and evaluation system and so on.At the last part, it summarizes the insufficiency of this study and looks forward the possibilities of future research.
