It was clearly claimed in The 18th CPC National Congress that the innovation of science and technology is the strategic support of social productive forces and comprehensive national strength, which should be put in the core position of the overall development. In addition, during the congress, innovation-driven development strategy was proposed with the emphasis of centrality of technological innovation and new requirement of the innovation and entrepreneurship ability for college students. Active exploration of development of vocational education at undergraduate level was promoted in the document, Decision on Accelerating the Development of Modern Vocational Education by the State Council, which therefore made the application-oriented colleges and universities who set their teaching orientation on the this target have to face a new talent cultivation problem. Building on the cultivation characteristics in application-oriented colleges and universities, the Five Entrance Activities are proposed creatively by Guangzhou College of Technology and Business, aiming at cultivating qualified college students with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetic and catering to the objective of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents. The study of the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents in the application-oriented colleges and universities base on the Five Entrance Activities are the need of building an innovative country. the natural requirements to carry out the basic educational task, and the real need of promoting college students’ all-round development. Therefore, this study aims to provide a new train of thought in the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents for local colleges and universities.This research mainly adopted the research methodologies, such as literature research, experience summary, and the questionnaire survey and so on to illustrate the Five Entrance Activities with the aim of cultivating the innovative and entrepreneurial talents in application-oriented colleges and universities. Basing on the investigating and summarizing the statue quo of the Five Entrance Activities in Guangzhou College of Technology and Business, we mainly analyzed the cultivation objective’s measures and effectiveness, reflected the cultivation objective’s required conditions and the existence question, and then proposed the concrete measures of perfecting it, providing practical reference for cultivating innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents in application-oriented university. Besides, this thesis will be divided into four parts, not including the introduction.Introduction:this part mainly explained the main source, the purpose and the significance of the study, interpreted the methodology adopted in this thesis and the research ideas, reviewed the research literature, and defined the key concepts finally.The first part:this part focused on the importance of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents in application-oriented colleges and universities. This cultivate objective is the important measure to carry out the education basic task, an inevitable trend to develop application-oriented colleges and universities, the objective requirement to improve the core competitive ability of university students. So, from macro to micro perspective, we illustrated the significance of this cultivate objective.The second part:this part comprehensively analyzed the Five Entrance Activities, the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents in the application-oriented colleges and universities, with its clear productive background, specific connotation, basic characteristics and value, with the overall understanding, grasping this cultivation objective and therefore solving the question of ’what’.The third part:Based on the investigating and summarizing the statue quo of the Five Entrance Activities in Guangzhou College of Technology and Business, this part was mainly analyzed the cultivation objective’s measures and effectiveness.The fourth part:this part had reflected the cultivation objective’s required conditions and the existence question, and then proposed the concrete measures of perfecting it, which firstly is to fully tap the potential of college students for the building up of cultivation mechanism; the second is to strengthen the systematic construction of the activity for creating better institution, including the establishment of audit system for its articles, training and guidance system, financing and guarantee system, evaluation system, etc.; the third is to innovate the activity’s carrier and provide a good service and practical mechanisms for the cultivation objective. Take the "into the library" in the activity for example, it concentrated on the innovation of "into the Library" activity carrier and improved the quality of the concrete steps in the activity.
