The present population, resources, environment and development issues, became global concern. The High School Geography Curriculum Standards released by Ministry of education in 2003 attached particular importance to the discussion on this issue. PEP and Hunan education press of the GEO-3 described about the global environmental problems in China taking the "Northwest Territories" as an example. However, the relevant cases studies in Geography textbook 3 States that in practice, the case selection was too wide, not limited, and cannot reflect the concept "geography of life". The most typical and the most serious environmental problem in Inner Mongolia is "desertification". Therefore, this article combined with curriculum standards, teaching materials, local characteristics and needs of students in Inner Mongolia design and develop teaching cases, and analysis features and education functions on the topic of geography " Desertification compate " taking Inner Mongolia as an example, the main objective of which is to provide high school geography teachers the local teaching resources close to students ’ lives in Inner Mongolia.This paper combined the method of literature research, comparative studies, case studies and a field survey. First of all, find out their history, development and future trends related to case teaching and teaching design at home and abroad through comparison research, analysis, getting a macro-level of confidence by case-method teaching and teaching cases.Secondly, against the lesson curriculum standards " Desertification compate " PEP and Hunan textbook designed and selected teaching materials in the case of students ’ learning areas such as detailed analysis of the situation, provide the basis for the preparation for " Desertification compate in Inner Mongolia” as an example of the case.Last, based on the cognitive school learning theory, construction doctrine learning theory and human doctrine learning theory, taking authenticity, typical, problematic, conformity, and situational and native for principles, design a main case "The Inner Mongolia Desertification compate ", three auxiliary cases for high school geographic class "desert of control", namely "Su Ni Te You Qi of ecological immigrants" and "Alashan Desertification ", and " Returning forest of Ke Er Qin Zuo Yi Zhong Qi"; an activity experience case " Planting trees and grass around the school for greening environment. " These five cases have always concerned about local education embodying the practicality of geography; emphasis on cultivation of logical thinking ability. It has various application forms, strong adaptability; focusing on evaluation and summary of the process and so on. From the students’ perspective, It will help students to more fully understand the natural and cultural surrounding environments; stimulate students ’ learning initiative and conscientiousness; cultivate students ’ multiple abilities and creative spirit; it will also help students to learn how to communicate, cooperate and share, stimulating feelings and construction of students ’ love of hometown, commitment and responsibility etc. From the teachers’ perspective, it will promote teachers ’ professional development in teacher development and raise the level of teachers ’ teaching quality and help improve teachers ’ ability in scientific research.There will be related issues and applications of design behind each case. Combined with the primary cases and secondary cases we designed a complete set of teaching process for teaching reference, hoping to make contribution to my hometown geography education, local curriculum resources development and environmental protection.
