| GIS(geographical information system)appeared in the 1960 s of the 20 th century.With the rapid development and extensive application of GIS technology,it has become a modern technological tool to study geography.Applying GIS technology to geography teaching is one of the most vital directions of teaching methods reform and teaching modes.Based on this important recognition,it is necessary to integrate GIS into geography teaching in secondary schools.On the basis of personal geography classroom teaching experience and the understanding of GIS,the author will adopt the strong functions of GIS as a means and use geographical knowledge as the main line,meanwhile,through access to a large number of domestic and foreign literatures,to explore several applications of GIS into geography teaching cases designs and analysis.The main research contents of this dissertation including the following aspects:First of all,to introduce the functions of GIS that is used as a kind of geographic information technology means.When it comes to the application of GIS to geography teaching,which entail various functions such as data storage and management,view manipulation,spatial query and analysis,mapping and output.Secondly,Combining the basic functions of GIS with geography teaching,and respectively through the geographical knowledge analysis,case design and operation,case studies and thinking to design four typical cases that adopt GIS in geography teaching,which is “the thematic map production and output”,“terrain display”,“the analysis of population change and the level of economic development” and “the background analysis of the Yangtze River economic belt”.According to the cases teaching,and then to the students and teachers to carry out a questionnaires survey,analyze their attitudes and perception of the application of GIS into geography teaching.Thirdly,to discuss current main problem and deficiencies of applying GIS to geography teaching in our country,and then put forward some relevant suggestions.Fourthly,to point out limitations in this dissertation and suggestions for future research. |
