| With the increasing emphasis on rural education,the main task of our country now is to narrow the gap between urban and rural education, and improve rural school conditions. In recent years, the state has increased investment in rural schools with the adjustment of the layout of rural schools and building “standardized schools†in rural areas during the compulsory stage. The rural education resources have been effectively integrated. And the schools conditions in rural areas has also been greatly improved, some rural schools have no obvious difference compared with urban in the conditions.Government configure a large number of teaching facilities for rural schools which main purpose is clearly to reduce the gap between urban and rural in school conditions, especially in facilities and equipment, and it will lay a good foundation for enhance the level and the quality of teaching in rural schools. To achieve this purpose, we need ues these teaching facilities and equipment constantly and effective, Because all of the efficacy of teaching facilities and equipment only through “use†can be achieved. If the teaching facilities and equipment to be shelved, become a piece of expensive and extravagant “exhibitsâ€, that will undoubtedly be a great waste of resources. So it might be necessary to discuss the use of teaching facilities and equipment in rural schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the level of application of the teaching facilities and equipment in rural school from usage, results, problems and influencing factors.This study will use observation and interviews, which select two rural schools in Gansu Province, to discuss the configuration and usage of the teaching facilities and equipment in these schools form the “distance education facilities and equipmentâ€, “Physical education facilitiesâ€, “Library Resources†and “Experimental equipmentâ€. It will explore the adequacy and effective use of teaching facilities and equipment. Then, It also will analyzes the possible problems in the teaching facilities and equipment applications. Finally, there is a comprehensive analysis of the relevant factors of affecting rural schools teaching facilities and equipment applications.Through field investigations, we found that the configuration of the teaching facilities in rural schools has been fundamentally improved, and there is no difference compared with urban schools. But we also should see that the level of effective application of various types of rural schools teaching facilities and equipment remains low. Although there are so many factors which affecting application of the teaching facilities and equipment, the teacher’s concept of education and teaching, lack of supporting resources and equipment, “Reluctant to use†and lack of good teachers are the common cause, and this is also an important way to improve the level of effective application of teaching facilities and equipment in rural schools. |
