The significance of ideological and moral qualities education is fundamental of qualities education and a cornerstone of social development. But for art major students, it’s unfocused. Art major students are relatively unique group, their way of thinking, source of students are different from other majors, the process of they receive higher education is perceptual more than rational knowledge. Art major students must have to not only mastering the artistic quality, but also have a higher moral quality, which is the ultimate goal of ideological and moral qualities of university’s education. This papers start from the basic requirements of art major students’ ideological and moral qualities education, summarize the status Quo of art major students’ ideological and moral qualities education by literatures and empirical investigations, ask questions by the status Quo, and innovate approaches to deal with the problem.
