Study On Student Teacher’s Professional Development Status

With the deep development of teacher education,the teacher’s professional development have attracted more and more attention. Generally,teacher’s professional development is a rising process of teacher’s professional quality in a spiral,which is divided into pre-service development and in-service development. The educational practice as a bridge crosses the position of pre-service and in-service development,which is the key period and crisis stage of teacher’s professional development, whether it is successful is related to the future of the new teacher’s career.This study is based on the analysis and summary of the student teacher, teacher’s professional development,as well as the arrangement and existing of previous researches. Finally, the author studies the student teacher’s professional development from three dimensions: professional knowledge, professional ability, professional spirit. On this basis, the author designed the questionnaire of student teacher’s professional development,which investigates and analyses the student teachers who are graduating from D university of their professional knowledge,professional ability, professional spirit and summarizes the gains and the shortages during the education practice to enrich the results of the survey. According to the purposes of the investigation and the problems that are reflected from the questionnaire, the author also designed the interview outline,which deeply analyses the student teacher’s professional development and the influence factors. Finally,the author put forward some suggestions to the student teacher’s professional development.The result of the research shows as followed:First,as a whole, the student teachers are satisfied with their professional development, and the professional knowledge and the professional spirit are better than the professional ability. What’s more, the teacher’s professional development is an organic unity,and the student teachers show a good state of the development in the three dimension. However, they are lack of the accumulation and the reflection in the practice. In addition,they have showed the “conflict” handling the relationship between the theory and practice.Firstly, Student teacher’s professional knowledge, professional ability and professional spirit are not mutually independent,unrelated,but influence each other.Secondly, Most of the student teachers in practice show preferable professional knowledge,professional ability and professional spirit. Unfortunately, few of them still have shortcomings in the three aspects.Thirdly, The “reality shock” affects the student teacher’s professional spirit,and will affect the professional knowledge and ability further.Student teacher’s professional development often is affected by student teachers and school environment,the former factors mainly include the student teacher’s personality,reflective ability,and the awareness of development; The school environment factors mainly include the school culture, the school management, the guidance of adviser, and the student’s recognition.According to the analysis of the status and the factors of student teacher’s professional development,this paper tries to put forward some improvement suggestions from student teachers,practice school and the normal university:One side, The student teachers should strengthen the understanding of practice early, active participate during the practice,and be good at reflection.On the other hand, The practice school should optimize the selection of advisor,be adept in encouragement and support to the student teachers.Finally, The normal university should enhance the training,guidance and summary before,during,after the practice.
