Education is a process of cultural transmission and a course of cultural adaptation to the educatees. It is also a kind of "culturalization" or "socialization" process. School education is to help students acquire knowledge, study culture and adapt to the society. Currently, the development of economy and culture presents the characteristics of globalization, internationalization and diversification. Under such a background, the education area of our country also correspondingly shows a diversified structure. But in the process of education development, it runs in a single way and the lack of teaching diversity still exists. Especially in the district of minority, how to combine their own ethnic culture with the national characteristics of education is of particular importance.Dali is located in the minority areas. During the period of the Republic of China, under the statute of government, Dali region combined its school education with their own ethnic culture and obtained the rapid development, which has the characteristics of flexibility, diversity. It provided certain enlightenment and reference for the contemporary education reform, especially for frontier minority areas.Based on the theory of multidimensional education and with the methods of literature research, historical analysis, comparative study and interview, this paper, from the perspective of ethnology, provides a fully analysis and in-depth study of the school-running mode of Dali school education during the period of Republic of ChinaIn the first part, I mainly talked about the definition of related concepts and the study of related field in this paper, the research value and the method of this paper.In the second part, I sorted out the development statuses of the primary education, secondary education and higher education of Dali region during the period of the Republic of China, then summed up the development characteristics of Dali school education during the period of the Republic of China, and elaborated the characteristics respectively.In the third part, based on the sorting out of the development of Dali school education during the period of the republic of China, I made a further analysis on the school-running mode of Dali school education during period of the republic of China. This part mainly elaborated the educational model from the educational ideology, the type and the management system, and finally analyzed the causes of school-running modes from five aspects-- the geographical location, historical background, economic development, national culture and the educational ideas.In the fourth part, I summarized the experience and lessons of the school-running mode of Dali school education, which can provide some enlightenment and reference for contemporary education, especially for the minority groups to utilize their own ethnic culture to develop education.
