Private secondary school for girls played the important roles in the Girl's Secondary Education.In late Qing dynasty,the government promulgated "Girl's Normal School Constitution",and allowed the private to set up the girls' school,it realized the primary and useful exploring to the girls' secondary.After the Republic of China established,the legal status of private secondary school for girls had been further guaranteed.Many private secondary schools for girls appeared in this period.These schools had made contributions to the Girl's Secondary Education in Republican Period.Boys and girls were in separate schools during Republican Period.Girls were too skinny to set up a secondary school for girls in some areas;the government had no time to spare for it,so private secondary school for girls emerged.School-running subjects included intellectual class and businessmen,new women belonged to intellectual class,it was the tuition and fees,non-governmental sector's school,school returns,government funding and other ways that made the source of funds diversity.The students' level in private secondary school for girls is more obvious.Many from families with higher levels,there were a few families from low level.In the aspect of student management,the school did rules about dress,grade,character,leaving and so on.Teachers came from diverse ways,such as high schools,teachers colleges and university graduates,students studying abroad also included.Teachers'treatment depended on private secondary school for girls,well-funded schools not only to give teachers basic salary,also give all kinds of benefits;but underfunded schools could barely afford meager salary,teachers lived poor.As the supplement of public secondary school for girls,private secondary school of girls showed features in training objectives,curriculum and board of directors.The training goals of private secondary school for girls were in line with public secondary schools' for girls,but in the special period,there were some differences from public secondary school for girls about training goals.In order to understand the differences about curriculums between the public and private schools for girls,author selected two schedules in similar year in order to make some comparison.Board power in private secondary school for girls was larger;they owned the decisions of the headmasters and members of the board,funds custody and budget accounting authority.The experience of running private secondary school for girls,such as diversification of school principals,regular courses and specialty courses and flexible educational way have provide certain enlightenment of contemporary girls' education,and offer the reference for the current education reform...
