The 21 st century is the era of knowledge economy, with the advent of the era of knowledge explosion, science and technology constantly forced on the way of decomposition and reconstruction, but reconstruction plays a more important position in the knowledge economy. In order to adapt to society and meet the demanding of self-development, the full-quality training should be focused the integration of science and technology; otherwise the professional knowledge and comprehensive ability can’t be neglected, either. However, the current higher vocational colleges cater to the market demand to develop professional skilled talents, which show the limitation of higher vocational colleges’ ability training and character of knowledge consistence, so higher vocational colleges should change unbalanced situation. A new task concerning reform and adjustment in higher education is that attention must be paid to developing training of professional knowledge and innovation ability when is cultivated. Finally, students have good moral accomplishment and comprehensive ability to adapt this society.General education is an integral part of higher education system, it is regarded as non-professional education. This education is also a kind of education what aim to train the all-round developing person. The general educational age provides repudiation of higher vocational schools’ rationality and necessity. This education can make balance of professional knowledge and comprehensive ability in higher vocational colleges, it also develops people excellent professional quality, so we can make the general education curriculum merge into higher colleges, which beneficial to cultivate students a perfect personality. By learning about domestic and foreign experience of a curriculum in higher vocational colleges, this paper takes one higher vocational college of Qinhuangdao as an example, researches the application of general education curriculum and curricula system reconstruction for all the higher vocational colleges.The paper consists of five parts: The first chapter is introduction includingresearch contents and including research background, literature review, the definition,research contents and methods; The second chapter, “the contemporary comparative study of high vocational colleges”, main areas of research is into higher vocational colleges of America and Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the mainland’s general education curriculum, then it provides abundant reference experience for one higher vocational college of Qinhuangdao; Chapter 3 “general education curriculum in Chinese higher vocational colleges research”, first it elaborates research rational of curriculum, and then refers to an effective general education model in higher vocational colleges; The fourth chapter “case study---takes one higher vocational college of Qinhuangdao as an example”, this study, taking one higher vocational college of Qinhuangdao of China as an example; Chapter 5 intends to find a new general education curriculum system that improve the ability and quality of the students; Conclusion part focuses on the analysis of how to build a new system of curriculum and measure.
